Blueprints For Luddites

Guimarães, PT 2022

Two cyanotypes of drawings on old cotton fabrics

40cm x 30cm each

These blueprints propose a neo-ludditism that takes back control from automated processes in the textile industry and remind us that the industry still poses a danger, may be not for our livelihoods as it was back then when the Luddites were active but now for our environment and planet.

Produced and exhibited at Contextile 2022 Contemporary Textile Art Biennial. Guimarães, PT. Curated by  Cláudia Melo.
